THE SEARLE HISTORY In 1923 Dan Searle began an electrical contracting firm in Santa Cruz. After a few successful years, he moved the company to Monterey . By 1937 there was a crew of seven wiring the mansions of Pebble Beach, as well as performing motor work and wiring Cannery Row. By the time the sardines disappeared there was a crew of nineteen, and work had expanded beyond the canneries to accommodate the changing needs of Peninsula business. Light industry and commercial development assisted in the continued growth of Searle Electric. In the 70's Searle incorporated, and Dan Searle Jr. and Joey Rogers joined the firm as vice-presidents. They added considerable dimension to the company's abilities, each having had many years experience in planning and wiring such diverse projects as water treatment facilities; major department stores; regional shopping centers; hospitals; waste water facilities; large pumping plants; service stations and much more.
